Built to be the shared printer
The B8270 is for the office where one copier serves everybody, and everybody notices when it is busy. A distribution warehouse running pick lists and bills of lading, a school office, a large legal or accounting floor, a print room that turns out manuals and board packages. At 72 pages per minute with a three second first page, the line at the copier disappears.
The 300,000 page monthly duty cycle is the number that matters here. That is not a speed claim, it is an engineering rating for how hard the printer can be run month after month. Pair it with the 3,000 sheet high capacity feeder and the office finisher, and a 200 page stapled report is a job you send and collect, not a job you stand beside.
It scans at 270 images per minute, the same as the B8255, so it doubles as the office archive engine. Where it differs from the B8255 is purely in how much you can throw at it. On a managed print agreement with us, the printer reports its meter and the long use parts to us, so a printer this central to the day never becomes the day’s problem.
