Who you are buying from

This store is operated by Uptown Business Machines Inc., 404 – 1688 152 Street, Surrey, BC V4A 4N2. You can reach us at 778-291-2849 or sales@ubmi.ca, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Pacific.

These terms apply to orders placed through ubmcanada.com. Equipment supplied under a managed print agreement or a lease is governed by that agreement instead.

Where we ship

We ship within Canada only. We do not currently ship to Quebec or to the territories. Shipping cost is shown at checkout before you place your order.

Prices

All prices are in Canadian dollars and do not include tax. Applicable GST, PST, HST or QST is calculated at checkout based on your delivery address.

We work hard to keep prices accurate, but manufacturer pricing on equipment moves, sometimes without notice. If a product is listed at the wrong price because of an error on our part, we will contact you before processing your order and you may confirm at the corrected price or cancel for a full refund. We will not simply charge you a higher amount than the one you agreed to.

Your order

Placing an order is an offer to buy. Our acceptance happens when we send you the confirmation email, and that email sets out what you bought, what you paid, and how to reach us. Please keep it.

Some items in our catalogue are ordered in specifically for you rather than held in stock. Where that applies, it is marked on the product page and we will tell you before you order rather than after.

Payment

We accept credit and debit cards through Stripe, and Interac e-Transfer. Card payments are processed by Stripe and we never see or store your card number. If you pay by Interac e-Transfer, your order ships once the transfer is received.

Leasing is available on request for equipment purchases. Leasing is arranged separately from this store, and service and lease costs are always quoted separately so you can see what each one costs. Call us and we will walk you through it.

Delivery

We give you a delivery estimate, not a guarantee, because the carrier and the manufacturer both sit between us and your door. If we have not delivered within 30 days of the date we gave you, you may cancel for a full refund. Please check the carton before you sign for it, and refuse the delivery if it is visibly damaged.

Returns, exchanges and defective equipment

Our full return policy is set out at Returns and Defective Equipment and forms part of these terms. In short: 30 days to return unopened equipment with a restocking fee of up to 15 percent, 30 days on equipment that fails on arrival with no fee and freight covered both ways, and 5 business days to report shipping damage. Please read the full policy before you order.

Warranty

Equipment is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty for that model. Terms differ by brand and by model, and they differ more than most people expect, including the date on which the warranty starts. Please call or email us before you order and we will confirm the term, the service type and the start date in writing for the exact model you are buying. The documents that ship with the machine carry the manufacturer’s own statement. As your dealer we handle the warranty claim on your behalf rather than sending you to the manufacturer.

Toner, ink and drums are consumable and are not covered under any equipment warranty. If a supply item arrives defective or damaged, that is a different matter and we will replace it.

Our responsibility to you

We stand behind what we sell and we will put right what we get wrong. What we cannot take on is responsibility for indirect losses, such as lost business or lost data, that follow from a product fault. Our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the product concerned. Nothing here limits any right you have under the consumer protection legislation of your province, and where that legislation gives you a greater right than this page does, that right applies.

Privacy

We collect only what we need to process your order and support you afterwards. Our Privacy Policy sets out the detail.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply there.
