Who this printer is for
The B8245 is the right answer when a growing office needs its first real copier. Fifteen to thirty people, invoices and manifests all day, the odd 11 by 17 drawing or spreadsheet, and no appetite for a printer that fills a room. It runs at 45 pages per minute and is rated for 200,000 pages a month, which is far more headroom than most offices in that range will ever use.
What you get over a desktop black and white printer is the tabloid paper path, the 10.1 inch touchscreen that works like a tablet, and a scanner that reads both sides of a page in one pass at 161 images per minute. What you do not pay for is the faster scanner and the higher duty rating of the B8255 and B8270, because at this volume you would not notice them.
It is built on the same AltaLink platform as the larger models, so the security, the cloud scanning, the finishing options and the paper handling are identical. If the business grows into the next tier, the workflow does not change, only the speed does.
